چکیده

The aim of this study is to provide the modeling and exact analytic solutions for hydromagnetic oscillatory rotating flows of an incompressible Burgers’ fluid bounded by a plate. The governing time-dependent equation for the Burgers’ fluid is different than those from the NavierStokes’ equation. The entire system is assumed to rotate around an axis normal to the plate. The governing equations for this investigation are solved analytically for two physical problems. The solutions for the three cases, when the two times angular velocity is greater than the frequency of oscillation or it is smaller than the frequency or it is equal to the frequency (resonant case), are discussed in second problem. In Burgers’ fluid, it is also found that hydromagnetic solution in the resonant case satisfies the boundary condition at infinity. Moreover, the obtained analytical results reduce to several previously published results as the special cases. MIRAMARE – TRIESTE December 2005 Junior Associate of ICTP. t − [email protected]

Transient Oscillatory Flows of a Generalized Burgers’ Fluid in a Rotating Frame

In this paper, the unsteady oscillatory flows of a generalized Burgers’ fluid in a rotating frame are investigated. The constitutive equations of the generalized Burgers’ fluid are used in the mathematical formulation of the problem. The solutions are obtained by using the Laplace transform method. The graphical results are displayed and discussed for various parameters of interest. It is found...

Electro-magneto-hydrodynamics Flows of Burgers' Fluids in Cylindrical Domains with Time Exponential Memory

This paper investigates the axial unsteady flow of a generalized Burgers’ fluid with fractional constitutive equation in a circular micro-tube, in presence of a time-dependent pressure gradient and an electric field parallel to flow direction and a magnetic field perpendicular on the flow direction. The mathematical model used in this work is based on a time-nonlocal constitutive equation for s...

Some oscillating motions of a Burgers' fluid

In this work, the exact analytic solutions for some unsteady oscillating flows of an incompressible Burgers' fluid in a duct of rectangular cross-section are considered. Here, two types of flows, namely, (1) flow due to the oscillating pressure gradient, and (2) flow due to the oscillation of duct parallel to its length, were considered. The exact analytical expressions for the velocity field a...

An Analytical and Semi-analytical Study of the Oscillating Flow of Generalized Burgers’ Fluid through a Circular Porous Medium

Unsteady oscillatory flow of generalized Burgers’ fluid in a circular channel tube in the porous medium is investigated under the influence of time-dependent trapezoidal pressure gradient given by an infinite Fourier series. An exact analytical expression for the solution for the fluid velocity and the shear stress are recovered by using the similarity arguments together with the integral trans...

Axi-symmetric Stagnation–Point Flow and Heat Transfer Obliquely Impinging on a Rotating Circular Cylinder

Laminar stagnation flow, axi-symmetrically yet obliquely impinging on a rotating circular cylinder, as well as its heat transfer is formulated as an exact solution of the Navier-Stokes equations. Rotational velocity of the cylinder is time-dependent while the surface transpiration is uniform and steady. The impinging stream is composed of a rotational axial flow superposed onto irrotational rad...
